There are a wide variety of weed species in each lawn.  Each weed type may have varying reaction times to the weed control.  Some may show decline within a few days while others may take up to three weeks.

Unfortunately, no.  Florida is a continuous growth state and weeds are always germinating.  We treat new weeds on each visit and work towards getting your lawn as thick as possible to minimize weed growth.

The greening of your lawn will vary depending upon variety, watering regime, time of year and the condition of your lawn at time of the application.  Initial applications made in the winter may show less reaction when temperatures are cooler.  Warm temperatures constitute regular sustained growth.  For example, St. Augustine is a warm season grass and its growth and metabolism slows significantly when daytime highs don’t exceed 70 degrees and night time lows are below 50 degrees.  Typically, during active growth periods (Mar-Oct) lawn color will improve usually within two to three weeks.

It is important and sometimes difficult to find the fine line of proper watering.  An under-watered lawn creates an environment for chinch bug infestation and minimizes the chance for proper growth and root development.  Excessive watering is wasteful and may lead to lawn disease, overall root decline and yellowing of the lawn.  With automatic irrigation systems, it is important to properly set the length of time and number of days that the system runs to create an environment that promotes healthy sustained growth.

Yes.  Any visible fire ant mounds will either be drenched or baited to minimize any future populations.  We also offer a guaranteed one time application to control file ants for a full year.

Aeration is a machine process which removes quarter size cores of soil that are two to three inches deep.  This allows oxygen, water, and nutrients to penetrate more efficiently into the root zone of your lawn.  This is commonly recommended in small areas of compact soil (even entire lawns in some cases) where new construction has occurred or high foot traffic occurs.  Heavy equipment use during home construction or areas used by dogs to move about the yard on a routine basis, and play areas for kids are common situations where aeration may be recommended.  Aeration is offered as an aid to help enrich your lawn, not as cure.  Results will vary depending upon turf condition, sunlight and soil composition.  If you have an area that needs aeration, it will typically be done on an annual basis, especially if the cause of the condition is not alleviated.

This is fairly common and with the amount of moisture we receive, mushrooms frequently appear. This occurs when you have the right mix of moisture, shade or cloudy weather and organic material in the soil. The good news is that they are not harmful to the lawn and they do not require treatment.  As you mow regularly you will see the mushrooms disappear.
